Cable expected to return as Raiders’ coach

After discussions with Raiders owner Al Davis, Tom Cable is expected to remain as the team’s head coach, league sources told NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi. Lombardi also reports that, according to sources, key Raiders assistants have been told to get to work, another sign that Cable will be back.

Ravens LB Lewis fined $5K for hit on Collie

The NFL fined Ravens LB Ray Lewis $5,000 for his hit on Colts WR Austin Collie during the second quarter of Indianapolis’ 20-3 divisional-playoff victory over Baltimore last week, according to a league source.

The league cited Lewis for unnecessary roughness, specifically for making helmet-to-helmet contact with his opponent.

Late Bears DE Adams remembered as humble, happy hard worker

Gaines Adams was remembered Friday for his enormous talent, quiet humility and an amazing smile that drew people to him throughout his football career. "They all talked about that smile," said Tommy Bowden, Adams' college coach at Clemson.
